a direct marketing division, Neiman Marcus Direct, which operates catalogue and online operations under the

Horchow, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman names.

 

Project Manager – Irving, TX04/15 – Present

Brought in to provide project management and scrummaster expertise for the application management

team within the IT organization.

  •                                         Responsible for managing a project team comprised of developers, performance testing lead, and technical consultants. The team is implementing 3rd party application monitoring solutions, DynaTrace and CA tools, for the NMO line of business (e.g., websites, servers, network devices). These solutions will begin to replace the 40+ monitoring tools currently being utilized.
  •                                         Work closely with Oracle project team to plan and implement a transformation and re-platform of the database infrastructure hardware and features that are used to serve the revenue generating and sales support functions of the Neiman Marcus eCommerce business. Replacing the IBM pSeries servers and EMC SAN that hosts Oracle Database with Oracle Data Guard technology with an Oracle ExaData Engineered solution. Benefits from this implementation are scalability, availability, uniformity, and supportability.
  •                                         Manage project team responsible for implementing Oracle Coherence as an in-memory data grid on top of the ATG repository layer. Project includes implementing Coherence using WebLogic onto 16 servers, with Oracle’s OEM acting as the monitoring solution.
  •                                         Mentor and coach project teams on the scrum methodology. Provided an overview and basic training after joining Neiman Marcus. Director of Technology / ScrumMaster – Irving, TX04/13 – 01/15

Brought in to build and manage the Technology team consisting of development and infrastructure individuals, to oversee the development of a multi-million dollar CRM application, and support IT marketing initiatives.

 

Director of Technology responsibilities included:

·   Established and managed a team which included a creative manager, software architect, developers, technical lead, QA test engineer, network administrators, and network consultants.

·   Created and managed the overall Technology team budget, including resources, hardware, and software needs.

·   Defined IT long and short term goals, company-wide applications roadmap, and infrastructure strategies and processes aligned with the business strategy and priorities.

·   Performed annual 360 evaluations and worked with each individual to create short and long term career goals.

·   Established and managed all vendor relations for software and hardware needs. Oversaw contracts and service level agreements.

·   Implemented VMware cluster to minimize existing hardware costs and provide stability and redundancy for all production level servers. Converted all physical hardware to virtualized environment.

·   Managed the implementation of Jenkins CI build server.

·   Managed office expansion project, including contract negotiations, overseeing the work performed by vendors, facilitating weekly status meetings, and tracking progress using MS Project.

 

Projects included:

·               When I first started, the company was running off of a single server, SBS, for Exchange, Active Directory, Antivirus, file share, VPN, etc. Working with a network consultant, we determined options for the set-up of the Infrastructure (e.g., physical servers vs. VMware, storage), and presented to the Executive Team. Once it was decided to purchase ESX servers to host virtual machines, a Nimble unit for storage needs, and additional switches to support the decisions, the project was executed. Responsible for overseeing the work being done by the network team and vendors, vendor relationships, removing roadblocks, and presenting regular project statuses to Executive team.

·               Other Infrastructure projects that I oversaw were: a) implementation of the new firewall appliance and VPN (Sonicwall), b) migration of production physical servers to VMWare virtual machines, and c) sunset the SBS server to dedicated servers for Active Directory, File Sharing, VPN, WSUS Windows Update Management, and Exchange.

·               Oversaw the development of a proprietary CRM application, including working with vendors on integration products, acting as the ScrumMaster.

·               Managed the project team on the rebranding of Consilium’s website, which included managing relationships with our vendors, contract re-negotiations, standing up a test environment for QA to perform testing on the site prior to roll-out, weekly status meetings to Executive team.

 

ScrumMaster responsibilities included:

  •                                         Mentored and coached my team and clients on the scrum methodology and acted as the ScrumMaster on the CRM project.
  •                                         Managed team relationships, including virtual team-members located in multiple locations.

Responsible for a 30+ million dollar technical project involving extensive changes to back-end services and code to

support integration with a large number of IHG’s websites and applications.

  •                                         Managed two scrum teams consisting of architects, senior developers, and QA test engineers, using a two week iteration schedule.
  •                                         Facilitated monthly steering committee meetings with stakeholders from multiple business units.
  •                                         Created and managed budget for all business units involved in project, including all software and hardware needs and professional services.

In addition to converting all GA stores from the legacy system, the project’s goal was to reduce the backlog of known defects, and enhance existing TX and VA functionality.  The initiative was to provide TMX a competitive advantage by providing an efficient and functional point of sale system to stores in TX, VA, and GA.
  •                                         Responsible for the project management of a $5M upgrade project to the store system used in VA and TX. The upgrade allowed VA stores to offer customer loan payouts in cash, and increased functionality within the system that increased usability and provided more efficient in store management processes allowing stores to serve more customers.

·   Managed integration of ERP solution with Qlikview, which allows the locum tenens staffing organizations to consolidate and analyze their data for budgeting and forecasting purposes. Qlikview has allowed management to easily create and maintain monthly and yearly divisional budgets.

·   Minimized physicians’ response time and increased fill rate of open orders by integrating SMS functionality with ERP solution.

·   Significantly improved the locum tenens organization’s credentialing process by implementing the physician credentialing software, Intellicred.

·   Responsible for the project management of the development of tele-anesthesia. The product was developed to grow provider productivity and efficiency as each anesthesiologist is able to supervise multiple operating rooms in different areas simultaneously through a centralized monitoring station. This technology is an adaptive platform with built-in scalability to accommodate the specific requirements and changing needs of various healthcare organizations. Based on the needs of the healthcare organization, audio and visual components may be turned on and off as desired as each component operates independently from the rest. The product was developed to work on PC’s and mobile devices (e.g., iPad, iTouch, smartphones).

Provided technical direction and management oversight of software development and production support for the CRM and ERP business systems.

·   Responsible for all aspects of an operating budget of over $1.5M for the software development organization which included software developers, business analysts, database administrators, and qa engineers.

  •                                         Recruited, developed, supervised, and mentored IT staff; developing employee performance goals, measurements, and personnel evaluations.

·   Defined, documented, communicated, and ensured Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for IT policies and procedures. Continually identified process improvements without compromising productivity, effectiveness, or compliance. Maintained process documentation and participated in SOX annual audits to ensure IT compliance.

  •                                         Assessed application security vulnerabilities and provided solutions to minimize risk by implementing a new Security Model for the business systems. Projects included the roll-out of Salesforce.com to 40 Recruiters, including a conversion of data from legacy system; conversion of client and provider data from legacy system to AMN’s system to support over 100 users.
